SUMMARY

Are you a classroom educator looking to work in a one-on-one or small setting with students with learning differences? We are seeking educators who love Jesus and working with diverse student learners to be part of the expanding Huff Learning Center where we provide intervention and support for students who learn differently.

 

Completed training is NOT required prior to the application process. Classroom teachers that are interested in being trained for this position should complete this Cypress Christian School Application. 

 

Under direction of the school’s Principals and the Learning Center Director, the Educational Specialist / NILD Therapist is assigned to provide learning enrichment services, NILD therapy, and other educational assistance to students and to assist the Learning Center Director, Principals and Teachers to fulfill the mission of honoring the Lord Jesus Christ by providing students an education based upon academic excellence and biblical values. The school administration and Learning Center Director may assign additional duties or specify other functions as may be needed by the school.

  2. Briefly describe your experience thus far in working as a classroom teacher or therapist noting any previous experience in working with children with learning differences.

 

GENERAL DUTIES

Educational Specialist/Therapist will use professional judgment and discretion in providing NILD Educational Therapy and educational support and services to provide for the following institutional needs:  

  1. Selection and use of instructional materials and methods
  2. Student evaluation
  3. Maintenance of individual educational plans and anecdotal records
  1. Program development
  2. Student scheduling
  3. Accommodations and/or modifications in students’ workload
